Future hope

Youth is the hope of the nation according to Dr. Rizal, and this quote makes filipino of bringing youth to political responsibility by electing them as Sanggguniang Kabataan. What if this youth sector is not that effective to encourage the youth to participate in politics? And it can only lead to corruption where they are victim or accessory of such activity. May be the government should think twice if it still need to pursue this sector. Issue of graft and corruption are not only occurs in different govt. agency but also in the lowest unit of government non other than SK, and one of this case that still under investigation is the case of Jane Censoria Cajes in which Manuel Ferdinand De Erio and
SK volunteer Leo Udtohan accused Jane Cajes of doing corruption activity because of her lack of transparency in financial transaction to the project and also of using government fund for sustaining her luxury such as bags and cosmetics, this statement of the complainant obviously may destroyed the image of Jane Censoria for being a role model to the youth. But in my view I don’t care what she want to buy or what she want to do to herself  it is still a part of her human right. But the big deal to me is that why does she didn't present financial statement from 2008 - 2010 to the National Commission to maintain the transparency to her office and also  her integrity as a leader of youth. Because I believe that it is one of the prime duties of any government official to present financial transaction. And according to GMA news Cajes has some document to prove her faultless about the issue but still vague on whether she already presented it to the NYC.



                In the other hand it can only be meant to destroy Cajes, because we cannot deny Cajes was one of the women that portrayed the image of being a strong women not in a sense of physical, but in leadership and influence for becoming the first women President of National SK Federation. Otherwise being involved in political are always vulnerable in such issue of corruption that may use by her opponent for their own agenda.


               No matter what is the truth between the two side of issue, the most important of this is that it may serve as example for future SK official to avoid any issue of anomaly that may destroy them and also to prove if the existence of SK still motivate youth in participating  nation building, and can proudly say that they don’t want to be a future hope only, but a citizen today striving for progression of our country.
